OneBlade is the first of its kind. A single blade razor system engineered from the ground up. And this one’s easy to master. With the right technique and just a little practice, you’ll be on your way to the best shaves — and the best skin — of your life.
Carefully remove a Feather FHS-10 blade from its wrapper. You may notice a tiny amount of adhesive on the blade — that’s perfectly normal. Holding the blade by the dull end, run it under some water and then insert it sharp end first into the back of the razor head. No need to press hard — if it feels like you’re having to force the blade in, simply back it out and then try again.
Preparation starts with hydration. And when it comes to proper shave technique, think of water as your best friend. Before you begin any lather building or actual shaving, you absolutely need to thoroughly wash your skin with warm water and a good facial cleanser that’s designed specifically for the face.
For a perfectly smooth shave, it’s critical that you understand your facial hair growth patterns as this will dictate which direction you shave. Take a minute or two to run your fingers along your cheeks, chin, and neck, confirming your own hair growth patterns. Pay particular attention to the “With the Grain” direction (the direction that feels the smoothest) as we will be starting here. And note that direction may change around different areas of your face and neck.
Soak the bristles of your brush for a bout 30 seconds in warm water. Once done, gently remove any excess water and get a nickel size amount of cream onto the tips of your bristles. Apply the brush with the cream to your skin using strong back and forth (“paint brush”) strokes as well as circular motions. Keep repeating these paint brush and circular strokes for 45-60 seconds until the lather has a very rich, thick, foamy appearance.
The key to successful shaving with any single blade razor is to shave in multiple passes, with each pass progressively removing hair more closely to the skin. A general rule of thumb with any proper shaving routine is to use three passes, while re-lathering between each pass. Two passes with the grain and one final pass across the grain.
Immediately after your shave, you’ll want to rinse your face with cold water which will help close your pores. Then apply a quality aftershave product that’s alcohol-free (or at least doesn’t have alcohol as a primary ingredient). Doing so will provide a combination of irritation relief along with skin moisturization, which are imperative for setting up your next shave.
Unfortunately at this time, we can no longer guarantee shipments to arrive by Christmas, including within the contiguous United States.
